Coimbatore city is located in the South Indian region of the country

. Among the locals it is also known as Kovai.It is the second largest city of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.This city is significantly populated and has become the major commercial center of the state. And this is the reason that many a time Coimbatore is also referred as the Manchester of South India. In the ancient time the city was being ruled by a number of rulers and emperors like, Cholas, Pandyas, the Vijaynagar Empire and the Madurai Nayaks.Coimbatore is known to have a rich and varied age old history.

In this modern age the civic administration of the Coimbatore city is being managed by the Coimbatore Municipal Corporation. Not just this, in the past few decades the city has shown a rapid growth and that has earned it a name of being one of the fastest growing cities of the country. It is home to a number of small, medium and large scale industries and many multi national companies. It is also one of the top most bases for the outsourcing companies. Coimbatore is also emerging as the IT sector of the country. Due to its fast modernization, today it is a major center for the textile and the manufacturing industries. Other important industries include software services, education and healthcare. The city is economically sound and is progressive.

Coimbatore is one of the important centers of education in the state. In the last few decades it has founded and established some of the prestigious and path breaking educational institutions in the e city. Till date the city has become home to seven universities, and hundreds of schools and colleges. The schools in the city are affiliated with one of the following boards namely CBSE, ICSE, NIOS, IB and other state boards.

These schools are either administered by the government or by some private trust or organization. Here the schools have English as the language of instruction and have impressive school infrastructure. If we talk about the play schools, than the play schools of the city are located near the residential locations and have a lush green home like environment. These schools try to provide all the educational requirements for the toddlers. These schools have smartly designed classrooms, which are air conditioned and properly managed sitting arrangement for a comfortable learning zone. The schools here are involving new age techniques and equipments for a better understanding of subjects and different facts and figures.
