Education Teacher Stress: Signs And Symptoms
Education teacher stress is definitely not new in the realm of teaching
. Teachers often experience this because of their countless workload everyday. Even their weekends are full of school related activities like doing lesson plans, checking papers and handling new activities.
Stress is actually a normal response to physical events where we feel insecure and uncomfortable. But often, you can not really distinguish this from other forms of bodily responses. Therefore, for us to establish a clear difference as to how to pinpoint it, here are some lists that the teachers really should be cautious and take into account.
Symptom #1: Constant temper. Humans as we are have the tendency to get angry or irritated over things. Surely there are some instances in school that will definitely trigger your angry emotions. To name a few would be noisy students, unexpected activities and cramming. But nonetheless, if you notice that this anger occurs on a daily basis, then this is a clear sign of stress. For one it is not everyday that students misbehaved or you cram on an unplanned activity. If before you have very long patience but recently it just cuts short, then rethink because you are definitely experiencing anxiety.
Symptom # 2: Physical pain. Disease, illness and pain are the things we feel and experience. However, this rarely occurs. But if you are under stress these things happen more often. You may experience some discomfort and pain, diarrhea or constipation, dizziness, chest pain and even uncontrollable heartbeat. Some also may have frequent colds, fever and flu. Stress can trigger and disable some areas and bodily functions to the point that our body will exert more effort. Thus, these physical pains can certainly exhaust our frail body when we are under stress.
Symptom # 3: Behavioral signs. Education teacher stress does not only touch the physical and emotional aspects of an educator. In addition, behavior can also be affected. So watch out for these symptoms that can indicate eating more or less of your usual consumption, sleeping too much or too little, isolation and abandonment of professional responsibilities. For example, if you happen to do not appreciate your line of profession today seeing only the negative and worrying about it over and over again, then you actually are experiencing stress. For some bad habits can also grow like drug addiction, alcohol and smoking.
These are the top three signs that may seem ordinary, but should be checked regularly so that we can really determine if it is indeed stress. If so, it would be better to seek help as soon as possible to battle it out. It has been consistently stated that prevention is always better than cure. So, do not allow education teacher stress to control you, instead control it your way by knowing its early detection.
