Efficiency Matrix offers its affordable product the Basic Mitt, which is a ventilated downlight cover and can be completely retrofitted over existing fittings utilizing a standard 50W Dichroic Lamp. Downlights are known to provide the most modern and desirable lighting available but they also introduce problems for commercial and apartment complex building in the way of fire ratings. With up to 2 hours of fire rating the Basic Mitt has huge benefits for multistory buildings but the product also helps to resolve convection currents, air conditioning leakage, draughts and fire damage.

The Basic Mitt provides some of the following key features for Recessed lighting:

Fire rated cover, that is capable of repelling a fire and smothering a fire with its intumescent material that expands towards extreme temperatures.

Provides energy savings for heating and cooling.

A downlight cover that is compatible with all recessed lamp types, up to 50W Halogen, CFL and LED, making fittings future proof.

Some fittings are installable without an Electrical License.

Installable from above and below the ceiling.
