Recently, the FDA has been trying to regulate e-cigarettes by claiming them to be a "new drug." The reason for this is that since companies are marketing them as products to eliminate cigarette addiction, the FDA wants companies to issue proof of such claims, as well as addressing safety issues regarding the use of this product.

For many people this is very troubling since there appears to be at last an efficient way to reduce or quit smoking, yet the FDA wants to ban them until proof of the claims can be issued.
