The basic electric shower takes a cold water feed, heats it internally via an electric element and delivers water at the chosen temperature to the shower head. The main disadvantages of this system are flow rate and ambient water temperature. The water will take longer to heat in Winter when the ambient water temperature is lower than it will in Summer. This is reflected in the flow rate, longer heating time = lower flow rate. the higher the wattage of the shower, the faster it heats the water so the better the flow rate. Always choose the highest wattage that you can afford.
