Eltor generic name (Pseudoephedrine ) is considered for relieving nasal congestion and sinus problem which is caused due to common cold, sinusitis, hay fever and different related respirational allergy disorder. Eltor medication can also be applied for treating ear blocking which appear due to retain of the fluid in the ear. Pseudoephedrine helps to relax the blood vessels in the nasal passages. Dilated blood vessels lead to stuffy nose.

How should I take this medication?

The dosage of the medication should be used as prescribed by the doctor. Usually this medication is taken for short intervals of time. Do not use excess amount of this drug. This medication should be taken as a whole as it is specially designed to release the drug slowly in the body. Patient suffering from heart, high blood pressure and diabetes or thyroid disorder should consult the medical specialist for there might be a need of adjustment in the dose or need to perform special test. Patient should not use Eltor medication along with the combination of MAO inhibitor without consulting the doctor because it may cause severe life threatening side effects.
