The Iberian Peninsula is located in the south of Europe. The countries that compose this wonderful peninsula are Portugal and Spain. The bigger one is obviously Spain with its capital being Madrid. Spain is a country with a rich historical past, but it is also known for its great coasts and islands. One of the most visited coasts of Spain is definitely Costa de Azahar; located in the region of Valencia. Gandia is the town placed in the very south of this coast. Famous for its touristic incomes and magnificent beaches, it is also one of the most active towns of this beautiful country.

Where the sun shines lovely

The most popular holiday resort of this coast is the one placed on the Northern Beach of Gandia, also called Gandia Playa Nord; it is very famous in all of Spain for its fine sand. Although it is a quite small beach, it is very crowded especially in the summer season. Its streets are full of bars, restaurants, nightclubs and other fun attractions which guarantee you a fabulous time. Playa Alhuir is another well visited beach in Gandia. It is special for its nudist place and for the fact that you can practice whatever water sport you like, in the best environment possible. The whole town is surrounded by amazing places; in Gandia, after taking a sunbath, you are kindly invited to climb a mountain. Everything is possible and the landscape is very beautiful. Gandia, a great cultural centre

In the past, these places used to be a great cultural centre, full of important universities. Nowadays, it still is such a centre but it is more popular for its historical monuments. The most popular here is the Palace of Santo Duque. Next to it, you can admire some Gothic buildings which will definitely amaze you. There is also an Archaeological Museum in Gandia which is now housed by the medieval building of San Marc hospital. Santa Maria church is also worth visiting, as it dates back centuries. With all this in mind, you'll spend the best holiday ever in Gandia. However, be careful on weekends, when the town can be very crowded.
