As the digital age advances at an exponential rate, so hospitals and medical centres have to keep up with the demands of modernity. However, there is often unforeseen consequences of any change implemented in such an environment.

Use of computers in hospitals

A prime example of this is the use of computers in hospital environments,. Appointments, patient records and other information is now stored electronically in most medical settings but computers bring with them unforeseen hazards.

Digital signage

Another innovation that is being widely used throughout hospitals is digital signage. Whilst using these LCD screens does not affect treatment and front line services it is one of the most effective ways of providing information to staff, visitors and patients.

Unlike notice-boards, pagers and tannoy systems; digital signage is realtime, modern, practical and an efficient method of providing information. It can even be used outside by housing the TV device (LCD or plasma) in an LCD waterproof enclosure.
