There is no doubt that a referral system is an efficient way to improve your business
. Since every individual has at least 250 people in his or her circle of influence, establishing contact with one customer can give you the chance to increase your referrals exponentially. What you need to put in mind however is the fact that this is only possibly once you have developed a healthy relationship with your potential customers.
Business can only be successful first of all if two parties are involved in a relationship that is reciprocal in nature. The principle that says, What you sow is what you reap is always true in the business world. If you sow seeds of generosity and kindness, you will reap fruits of the same kind. In terms of business, once youve established a relationship with your customers, endless referrals are sure to follow.
It simply works that way. When people realize that you are sincere in your efforts to offer quality products or services, they will never be hesitant in making referrals for you and your business. This is the reason why you should always consider your customers needs before yours. Offer them a service that goes beyond their expectations and you can be sure that they will spread word concerning your business even without you asking them to do so.
If you feel that you have already established relationship with your regular customers, feel free to ask them if they have friends or relatives who might be in need of the kind of services that you offer. Most of the time, satisfied customers would willingly offer you names and phone numbers. Waste no time and immediately follow up the names with a phone call or a letter. Make sure that you ask permission to use the names of customers who gave you the referrals.
Written letters are more personal in approach than those sent through emails over the internet are, so when showing your sincerity and gratitude to your customers, send them a thank you note written by you personally. Doing this will make customers know that you are indeed sincere and the next time they meet someone who might be needing your services, they will straight away point to you as their recommendation.
Real entrepreneurship is not all about money. It is primarily about your ability to handle relationships with different kinds of people and how you can make those relationships help you in your aim to succeed as an entrepreneur. Only a person who has mastery over such values as perseverance and generosity can be called a successful businessman.
