Nigeria has always been surrounded by the social and economic tensions that kept on hitting it from time-to-time. Such a dismal scenario prohibited the career aspirants to step out of their four walled edifice and attend the regular classes being conducted in the campus classrooms. This was the time when the UK universities came into the limelight with immensely convenient mode of imparting education to the learners. As a matter of fact, the distance learning in Nigeria was available for the students from a long time, but the actual emergence can be said to be during these disturbances as this was the period when this system of learning came into huge focus. The main reason behind this was the inability of the students to attend the regular campus classes.

This was, however, the ultimate time for the distance learning system to prove its effectiveness and ability to make the students capable of surviving in such a competitive market. However, the distance learning in Nigeria has utilized its chance to the utmost extent by making the students efficient enough to enable them reach their zenith of success. But, without the contribution of the UK universities, this was not really possible for this education arrangement to gather so many students in the blink of an eye. The image and reputation of the UK University was such that the career enthusiasts did not even give a second thought to their decision of getting enrolled to the courses.

The standard followed by the UK universities has always been considered as effectual from the very time when it introduced the regular campus classes. Similarly, when it came with the platform of distance learning in Nigeria, it did not take much time to establish itself as a reliable source of imparting education. In addition, the outstanding performance of the employees worked as the icing on the cake. As a result of which, even the employers hardly gave emphasis on the mode through which a candidate has obtained the degree, but the only thing that mattered was the skills and knowledge that they possessed.

It can, however, be stated that to get the best opportunities, education is required and what can be the other best source than the UK universities that is one of the reputed names in the education arena. The distance learning in Nigeria, in fact, has proved to be the contemporary form of educating individuals in a true sense, mainly because of the technological initiatives that have been introduced to make it even more efficient and effective.
