Exotic Pets For Sale: Lemurs
Going out of the comfort of the usual is one of the greatest things that a person can do. Staying conformed to ordinary things may make life sound boring. This is perhaps the main reason why a lot of people all over the world are now getting in to the trend of buying exotic pets for sale. Exotic pets for sale come in a wide array of types ranging from small critters to very large snakes. Exotic pets are a good pet choice if you want to be a little more unique with the pets you have at home. Even though these animals are out of the usual, they require the same amount of care that other animals need.
Lemurs are one of the best exotic pets varieties that you can choose to go for. Lemurs are basically a class of strepsirrhine primates that are native to the island of Madagascar. You can easily spot these animals in pet shops that are breeding them in captivity. Choosing a male lemur is often recommended to most people as to the reason that male lemurs are not domineering as compared to the females. In addition to this, male lemurs are also way easier to train as compared to female lemurs. Choosing a male lemur is obviously a good choice especially if buying one as a pet is your first time. Lemurs come in a wide array of species that you can choose from. The smallest types of these would be the pygmy mouse lemur. The largest on the other hand would be the indri lemur, which typically weighs an average of 15 lbs. Among all the types of lemurs, the mouse lemurs and ring tailed lemurs are perhaps the most commonly purchased species as pets. A mouse lemur usually measures from 4.7 inches to 5.7 inches in length. This lemur species has soft fur, long hind legs, a long tail, big saucer like eyes, and a strip of black fur that runs down on it back.
The ring tailed lemur on the other hand comes in a much larger size as compared to the latter. Ring tailed lemurs are larger in size but they have shorter front legs compared to their hind legs. This is probably the reason why these types of lemurs walk its bottom up high in the air. Ring tailed lemurs typically weigh from 5 lbs to 8 lbs. In addition to this, they usually grow to a length of 15 inches to 18 inches. Taming lemurs is not that hard especially when they are bought at a young age however; they may become more aggressive as they get older. Because of this, lemurs are commonly spayed while they are still at a young age. This helps prevent lemurs from getting aggressive as they advance in age.
Lemurs can serve as good companions at home that you will find fun to play with every single day. These animals can serve as your stress balls (not literally of course) as to the reason that they will help you relax from a long week at work or after a long day of household chores.
