The Lion King opened on Broadway, November 13, 1997 and has called the New Amsterdam Theater home for close to 10 years. Adapted from the Disney animated film, the stage version was written by Elton John and TimRice, and directed by Julie Taymor, Since its opening, the production has won over 30 major theatre awards, including six Tonys, in part for its sensational carnival-style costumes. Visually, the Lion King is stunning to watch. You will experience over forty actors in unbelievable costumes, designed to recreate all the animals of the African jungle it is truly amazing to see.

The show features the eclectic musical rhythms from South African composer Lebo M., who creatively transports the audience to the jungle through this fantastically creative score, the audience will experience the jungle in an exciting and fun way. But dont worry, you will also enjoy some of your favorite songs from the movie including Elton Johns Oscar winning Can You Feel The Love Tonight.

Currently in its 13th year on Broadway, The Lion continues to dazzle audiences around the world. Running about two hours and fourty-five minutes, you will be captivated from the moment you hit your seat, and trust us, there is never a dull moment!
