Explain Asus Motherboards and Black Screen

Recently, there are some problems with Asus motherboards when running Windows 7, a normal error is that a black screen appears when using two or more screens after installation of Windows 7. Now we will take a look at how to fix it in this article. Hope it can give you help.

Windows 7 is not able to figure out which video signal it has to send and Asus has released a bios downgrade that will fix this problem. There are easier ways to fix this, just have a try.

Repeat the installation but keep TV or any other extra screens disconnected from your computer during the installation.

But if you do not want to reinstall, you can try this method below.

1. When the black screen occurs, hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete and see if your desktop reappears. If not, try to restart in safe mode by pressing F8 just before Windows 7 starts up. When you are at your desktop in Safe mode, open notepad and copy the following lines.

displayswitch /extend

displayswitch /internal

2. Now save the file as a .bat file, example: display.bat

3. Save the file in the Windows 7 startup folder, the path is shown below.

C:/ProgramData/Microsoft/Windows/Start Menu/Programs/Startup Where C is your Windows 7 drive letter.

4. Reboot and hopefully Windows 7 will run normally.

Note: There have also been reports of USB devices causing troubles, if the above solutions do not work, try to pull out all USB devices except mouse / keyboard and then restart.
