Any activity a student deals with apart from studies, brings diversity in his/her scope of interests and develops his/her social skills somehow.

If you have a wide range of interests and enough time you may try your hand in a few spheres the important thing here is to choose the activities you really like. If you take too many you may fail to cope with them all. So be sure to have enough activities to keep you interested but not too much to be a success in all of them.
