Extracurricular Activities: Paint The Color Of Your Soul

For many of us, painting is something that belongs to museums and art galleries and is thus far away from understanding of the general public

. The world of art seems so distant that you would hardly imagine painting as your extracurricular activity. However, the majority of people somehow tried to involve in painting at least by scrabbling some random designs on a piece of paper while chatting on the phone. Why not turn this scrabbling into something more substantial and conscious? Let us see how we may accept painting as a desired way of self-expression.

Steps to Making Painting an Enjoyment

It is no secret that an activity becomes exciting once you feel a personal attraction to it. In case with painting, you can employ the following ideas to make it more personal:

1.Try to move away from the stereotypical idea of painting as a depiction of a definite image on the one hand or an abstract daub on the other hand. In order to enjoy a successful painting process, you do not need to make either of them.

2.Rather, try the following simple trick. Take a sheet of paper and in the center make a stroke with the color that reflects your innermost feeling. Surround it with a color that is second-important in your emotional state. Proceed likewise to depict the whole range of your momentary self-feeling. Cover the remaining background in the color that fits your environment most. Thus you will create an emotional self-portrait. You can repeat this procedure as many times as you wish, making a whole gallery of self-portraits in different emotional states.

3.Engage in painting together with your family and friends. Without discussing the topic of the painting, draw some shape on a piece of paper. Let another person continue the drawing the way he/she likes. Proceed so until the painting is completed and enjoy a group discussion of the result.
