An E-zine is a newsletter emailed to subscribers. It is a coined term for magazine which is published online. The main subject or theme of the newsletters can be about any niche. And when a newsletter has been around long enough within cyberspace, the number of subscribers of the newsletter will increase to a point that it represents a substantial percentage of the global market. As soon as the number of subscribers is large enough, the publisher of the e-zine will be selling space in it to online entrepreneurs and to affiliates. Such is the beginning of the publishers e-zine advertising.

To obtain the maximum benefits of e-zine advertising, here are some tips that an affiliate may keep in mind.

*A number of e-zines are just paragraphs delivered via email, while other e-zines offer links to other websites. The affiliate should select e-zines that have these external links. If the affiliate has signed-up with a pay-per-click program, he can arrange the link to be going to the merchants website. Otherwise, the link could lead to the affiliates website. What is important is that the e-zine should persuade the subscriber to participate and take a more active role.


* There are 2 types of ezine ads: Solo ads which are expensive and the Banner-like ads which are much affordable. The solo ads take the complete attention of the reader, while the banner-like ads will be competing with other banner ads. It is up for the internet marketer to make a decision on which ad type to choose according to the budget and what works best for his affiliate product.


* Affiliate marketers must pay attention on the placement of the ads.The top sponsor ads are better than ads placed in the middle of the newsletter article. An ad placed right in the middle will probably be skipped by the reader. While the ad found at the top will more likely be read first. The top ads are obviously more expensive than the middle ads. But what good will a middle ad do when it cannot even get one visitor? Next to top ads, the bottom ads are effective. When the reader reaches the end of the article and find the bottom ads, there is a higher chance that the reader will click on the link in the bottom ads, especially when the ezine article is engaging.

*Having a targeted niche is better than a generalized approach. To have an e-zine ad that targets a specific audience, the affiliate must find out from the newsletters publisher the topics of the next issues. Once the subsequent issue is known, the affiliate will choose from among the products something that is related to the issues theme for it to reach a specific target.
