Facebook Pay Per Click Gold Rush
This article is about how to properly leverage Facebook Pay Per Click
, a really great way to generate more quality leads for a whole lot cheaper than Google, and way less competition.
First lets get into some basic advertising rules:
1. Ads must be engaging, but not to slick
2. Ads can not be to shocking, or offensive, like Google allows.
3. A image for your ads is a must
4. Put words into your advert
5. Keep your click through rate at 2% or higher
Okay, now that I have listed the advertising rules lets talk about them real quick. First, ads must be engaging, but not to slick, really speaks for itself, be specific about what is your advertising, just do not be to slick about it, Facebook will not like that. Next, Ads can not be to shocking, or offensive, if you ever used Google PPC, you know that they really did not discriminate on how offensive your ads were, you could really write as shocking or offensive as you wanted to, to try and get clicks. So, complete opposite with Facebook, they do not want their users to get offensive from ads, so definitely be conservative when writing your ads, or they will get disapproved. A image is a must, do you have to put a image for you ad, no, but through my research, and top marketers research, if you place a ad with out a image, you will get a poor click through rate, and will defeat the purpose, so use a image. To go along with that, you want to put words in your advert, or image, because it will really enhance your results for your ad. Last, continue to check your click through rate for your first week to two weeks before you just forget about it, why? Reason why is you want to make sure your CTR stays above 2%, also you want to make sure that your clicks are turning into leads. Reason why you want to keep the CTR above 2% is, if is drops below that, Facebook will probably disable your ad, because they will claim it is not relevant. That is a very important word to remember, relevant.
Now lets talk about the rules for writing a good Ad:
1. Headlines should be questions
2. Your image needs to tell a story and grab attention
3. Smiling faces get more clicks
4. Make sure to use text on your images
5. Make a specific promise
So lets talk about the rules before we move on, your ads headline should always be a question, and the image you use needs to tell a story and grab users attention. Pretty point blank, so no need to labor on that, smiling faces will get you more clicks. If you want to put a smiling face for your image but you do not have a smiley face, just use someone else smiley face, anything to get the message across without being offensive. You do not want to use images like stops signs, warnings, etc, because that will be to offensive for Facebook. Again, make sure to use text on your images, and finally make a specific promise in all of your ads, I will touch more on that in a minute.
Here are the Facebook No No's to be aware of:
1. Make sure to use upper and lower case
2. No incorrect spelling or slang
3. No incomplete thoughts
4. No use of irrelevant images
5. Nothing can be offensive
6. No abbreviations or symbols
Facebook No, No's, make sure you are using proper vocabulary, using upper and lower case letters as needed. No incorrect spelling, no slang, no incomplete thoughts, you just need to make sure that every thing is written correctly and is legit, because this is how Facebook wants it done, not sure why, but it just is. Do not use irrelevant images, for example, if your ad is about internet marketing, you are not going to want and have a image of a half naked women, keep it relevant like we talk about. Do not use any abbreviations or symbols in your ad, and again nothing should be offensive.
Okay, lets talk about Bids and Budgets:
1. Facebook is not Google AdWords
2. You want to start at 50 dollars per day or less.
3. Use cost per click, not cost per impression
4. Bid half the highest recommended amount for 2 days, then the highest
recommended amount
When I say Facebook is not Google AdWords, you do not have to have a high daily budget like with Google. If your budget is 15 dollars a day, Facebook will deliver 15 dollars worth of impressions for you to get the clicks, you see, their is no reason to inflate your budget because they will deliver. You want to always use cost per click over cost per impression, pretty self explanatory, you want the clicks for the leads. Here is a really important tip, do this, bid half the recommended amount for 2 days, and then bid the highest recommended amount. You want to do this to determine how much you want to bid as you go on, what is giving you the highest return on investment, etc.
Now on to the key rules to follow, or the golden rules:
1. Always, always give value
2. Your landing page you bring them to must have value given video or information.
3. Every user will get a chance to vote your ad
In today industry, giving value is a must, especially when you are using social media, so make sure that what ever you are sending people to from your ad, that you are giving value. If you bring your prospects to a regular landing page, with out any video, or real value to give, you definitely risk the chance of getting your ad disabled. Also remember that, for every user that clicks your ad, they will have a chance to vote your ad, so if they did not like what they saw, they will vote it negative, something to remember.
Okay, these are some really great instructions to get you going on Facebook PPC, if you follow thees rules, you will have your ads out in no time, and can start working on getting good results with your ads. Facebook really is a gold mine right now, hopefully that does not change, but the internet does change a lot, so add this skill to your marketing strategy, make sure you are using what ever budget you are comfortable with, and take action.
