Facility For Residents Near New Homes Scheme In Gloucestershire Restored By Banner Homes
Housebuilder Banner Homes has come to the rescue of the community around its Broad
Meadow development of 29 new homes in Gloucestershire by helping to restore a well-known and much-used circuit in the area, popular with walkers, riders and cyclists, among many others. It's been a long struggle for local residents go raise the money to help make the trail safer and the contribution of Banner Homes will secure the next phase of works for the project.
"The circuit is very popular with local residents and is used by a number of different community groups," says Pat Harris, secretary for Stanleys Tracks, Trails and Amenities Group (STTAG). "Back in autumn 2008 we started to notice that it was becoming dangerous for people to use so we formed a residents group to liaise with the local Council about restoring it. We raised money for the first phase of the restoration and Gloucestershire County Council Public Right of Ways kindly allocated extra funds to allow us to complete the first phase which was restored last year. Since then we have been fundraising for the second and third phase of the circuit and are extremely grateful to Banner Homes for their generous support and donation."
House hunters visiting the show home at Broad Meadow hoping to find a property to suit their needs at the site are certain to be impressed by its location. Leonard Stanley is a quintessential Cotswolds village nestled in the countryside with an historic church, pub (the White Hart) and village green. It lies on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with other amenities at hand in neighbouring villages and good transport links to larger commercial centres such as Stroud, Gloucester and Bristol.
"We are very pleased to be working with the local community to help restore this circuit," says Comments Sarah Brunell, Sales Manager of Banner Homes Midlands. "Leonard Stanley is a thriving village with a great community spirit and we hope that many people, including the new residents of our development, Broad Meadows, will be able to benefit from using it."
The three-bedroom show home at the scheme has been popular with house hunters in the area since the development was launched last month. With a superb fitted kitchen, patio area, master bedroom with en suite and luxuriously appointed family bathroom, it demonstrates the level of quality that won the company an award for Best Medium Housebuilder at the What House? Awards 2010. Six homes at the scheme have already been reserved. In November, another five-bedroom show home will be available to view at the site.
The development is now open for viewing from Thursday to Monday every week, from 10.00am to 5.00pm. The current mix of detached and semi-detached houses ranges in price from 225,000 to 475,000.
