. The following Australians have become famous in their fields of expertise and has brought honor and acclaim for their mother country.

Steve Irwin. Born in Australia to become the eventual owners of the Australia Zoo, he gained worldwide acclaim as a wildlife expert in the television series The Crocodile Hunter. In the show, he explored the unique wildlife of Australia with his Australian accent and abject fearlessness in wrestling with crocodiles and other reptiles. He shot other documentary footage of other wildlife in other parts of the world and became one of the world's foremost conservationists. He produced and hosted many other shows both for children and adults on the proper handling of the world's most dangerous animals. In the beginning he hosted with his wife and soon thereafter his first daughter Bindy became mainstays of his documentaries. In one series he shot at the Great Barrier Reef, he was fatally wounded when a stingray's barb penetrated his chest and heart. He died a few moments later and the world mourned the passing of one true expert in wildlife and conservation to the animals he loved the best. He has been remembered in Australian nature conservation through his foundation and his daughter Bindy, who continues his work in educating people of the beauty of Australia's wildlife.

Hugh Jackman. Hugh Jackman was already a famed stage actor in native Australia until Hollywood beckoned him to make him into one of the world's biggest international stars. He started off with offbeat roles in movies until he became the personification of one of the most revered characters in graphic novel history, Wolverine of the X-Men. He later on produced other films in line with the Wolverine character. Aside from his film roles, he has become an award winner, with accolades in the Tony Awards and Emmy Awards. He has also become a world-recognized figure, often gracing covers of magazines and even being declared as the Sexiest Man Alive. One of his greatest achievements is advocating the rights of mixed race Aborigines in his native Australia, even adopting mixed race children to complete his family.

There are many other notable Australians in film and television nowadays, such as Nicole Kidman, Naomi Scott and many other actors and actresses. These two though have created a great impact on the world today. Steve Irwin's tireless efforts in animal conservation and education have helped many natural species in Australia to be protected and even flourish. Hugh Jackman has crossed over to mainstream media to pave the way for many other Australians to break into the wild and fiercely competitive world of Hollywood from the greatness of media in Australia.
