If every human being can discipline himself or herself as he or she is supposed to
, the world would be quite another story. For one, we will not have such pains as being overweight because we will never permit ourselves to overeat and stay put all the time. It's an ideal situation, but we can do that with as little effort as possible if you really want to overcome the human weaknesses that are always there preventing us from excelling ourselves. I will share some killer tips on how to do that in the following paragraphs. You will surely find it helpful when you are done reading this.
Before we come to the specific methods to help us improve self-discipline, we need to know where the difficulty lies. Let me explain this with an example. Hypothetically, you want to lose 20 pounds in the next two months or 60 days and have decided to take the tread mill for 40 minutes per day. This means that you will spend 2400 minutes, or 40 hours, in total in order to reach your goal. That is less than two days. Just tell me. Can you lose those 20 pounds in two days by running to death without taking any break? No, you can't and nobody else can. If it could be done, which is obviously a one time thing, then we don't have to discipline ourselves in doing those daily rituals. We are not living in an ideal world, so we must control ourselves in order to make good things happen.
One of the killer strategies that I have learned about fat loss is making a concrete plan. This plan should include short and long-term goals that you want to achieve in days, weeks, months, seasons and years. It should also have detailed actions included, i.e. what you are planning to do on a daily basis in order to make those goals come true. The more detailed the plan is outlaid, the better your chances of success will be.
Don't make the plan and then forget about it. In order to keep yourself motivated during the whole fat loss process, you need to reinforce your impression of the plan in your mind by reviewing it on a daily or weekly basis. Why not post it on the wall or somewhere you can not help noticing? The more frequently you see it, the faster and more effective you will reach your goals.
The planning phase is intended to motivate you from inside. There are some small but surefire ways to make things easy and fun. I find it effective to prevent me from snacking at night if I brush my teeth early. Another trick that helps me much to carry out weight loss plans is recruiting some partners as a support team. It can be someone that pushes you or lose fat together with you. My girlfriend used to play both roles in my fat loss cause.
