Faizal Khan, 28 year old businessman has had a busy year! He recently won BBC's Hit TV Show Dragons Den, in which entrepreneurs from around the world pitch their new ideas to 5 of Great Britain's Richest People, in search of investment. 8 million British prime time TV viewers at 8pm on Monday 16th August 2010 saw Faizal Khan and Gary Hillman win the BBC's Hit TV Show Dragon's Den when Jarnes Caan (the UK based Billionaire) said "You have yourself a Deal" and invested 80,000 for a 30% stake in Peel Engineering, the Worlds Smallest Car Company, co-owned by Faizal Khan.
Fazial also made History when he arranged for the Guyana Football Team to play their first ever match in England this summer. This has helped Guyanese football step up one notch this year, climbing FIFA places and creates exciting possibilities, were Guyanese football to become better organised and expanded.
On top of this Faizal Khan passed,the FIFA Licensed Football Agent Examinations, making him the first ever person in the World to be a FIFA Licensed agent from this region of the West Indies.
Not a bad year at all you might say, but Khan is hungry for more!
Faizal's business partner Gary Hillman and now investor James Caan are taking Peel Engineering to new heights.
The Peel P50 (owned by the company) is the World's Smallest Production Car of all time, according to the Guinness Book of Records and it has been sosince 1962 As the City streets get more congested, there is real need for smaller, more environmentally friendly cars, all over the world.
However, the Peel P5Ohas a cult following in Europe and the USA and official Peel merchandising is selling very well, worldwide. The company's website www peelengineering com will show the strength of the demand for their current merchandise, which is sometimes sold out as soon as they arrive and has forced the company to put in place a waiting list to deal with the current demand.
Born and bred in England, Faizal had the unique opportunity of attending a top public school in the London. He has been travelling to Georgetown Guyana on school holidays, every year, since he was just 1 year old. Faizal actually lived all of 2008 and 2009 in Guyana and is well known around Georgetown.
"The Summer Holidays in Guyana, as a child, were always my favourite" said Faizal. "Imagine 2 whole months in Georgetown Guyana, I always had a tear in my eye when it was time to return to London. This is something that hasn't changed, whenever I am leaving Guyana, if I'm honest."
Faizal's father, self made multi millionaire Mr. Kads Khan has been his inspiration since a child. Faizal recalls how hard his father worked to get to where he is today. My father has and always will be my main role model. Kads Khan is a name known all over the world, as someone with the golden touch, when it comes to Business.
It dawned on me from a young age, going back to our family origins in Skeldon, Berbice that my parents were from very humble beginnings.
I soon realised just how hard they must have worked for my father to have accumulated such a reputation, knowing as I do, the influence he exercises on both side of the Atlantic and the powerful people he advises.
I have been blessed with two things in my life, a solid education and a connection with the almighty God. Faizal says he speaks to the Almighty regularly. It has been a couple of very hard stressful years for Faizal. Very few people know just how hard I have worked and just how many hours a day my brain is constantly calculating. However, I am at a stage now where I am seeing moves before moves are evening happening.
Faizal says to the young people in Georgetown Guyana, in life you must believe in yourself and believe you CAN achieve anything you put your mind to. If you do not believe you can do it, it will never happen. Start believing you can do it, and you start to change the world in your own way!
