, but are stressed out over finding the right plans for building a greenhouse? While building your own greenhouse is definitely an excellent idea, I must admit that choosing the perfect plans for building a greenhouse can sometimes be a tedious task. Ever heard the phrase, "For every problem, there is a solution?'
Well, those same rules apply to your situation and I am going to help you overcome this barricade. Trust me, I understand your feelings because I went through the same situation for weeks when I started my greenhouse project. I would spend hours and hours researching online for everything from all the materials needed to picking the perfect plants to grow. During my whole researching phase, I came to a conclusion that organization is key to reaching sufficient results for your overall endeavors, which leads us to the solution...a checklist.
A checklist is very important in staying organized and will benefit you greatly in the long run because it will allow you to write down and keep track of all of your ideas for later reference and then after your research, you can scratch off those ideas which will help you remain consistent during your research phase.
First thing to keep in mind when constructing this checklist is to seperate the most important needs from the least important needs. For example, researching the dimensions, materials needed, plants to grow, etc. are more important than researching the type of soil and pots your using. While these factors are essential, they are not a necessity to finding the perfect plans for building a greenhouse.
With that being said, your greenhouse plan checklist should include the following:
1) Dimensions of your overall space. Determining the length, width, and height of the space you are working with is important in figuring out what design will benefit your specifications the most.
2) Greenhouse Design. Figuring out which design fits your specifications and space is essential to your indoor garden
3) Foundation. If a foundation is within your specification, then choosing what foundation material is an essential building block such as choosing between a concrete slab, concrete blocks, or lumber.
4) Greenhouse Framework. The framework material is a critical factor for your greenhouse such as wood, aluminum, PVC pipes, or galvanized steel, but certain materials have better advantages than others. For example, wood framed greenhouses are beautiful, but aluminum framed greenhouses are longer-lasting and also maintenance-free.
5) Flooring. There are different flooring options to choose from such as gravel, wood, stone, coarse sand, or concrete.
6) Glazing material. The glazing material should be consistent with the framing material. Glass, fiberglass, polyethylene, acrylic are some of the options that would be beneficial to your greenhouse.
7) Accessories. The accessories such as shading, benches, heating, air circulation, irrigation systems, etc. are considered the final touches to your greenhouse, but are just as essential as the other factors on your checklist.
8) Budget. This is most likely the most important of all because you have to know your budget so that you can see how much you have to make your greenhouse come to life.
On that note, another factor to consider after writing out your checklist and researching each aspect is to make sure that the plans are thoroughly detailed with pictures and contain relevant down information on every single factor that you have written down on your checklist.
There are many options to finding these plans such as going to your local home improvement store, local bookstore, or even online e-books. I used an e-book for my research because I enjoy doing many things in the comfort of my own home so that was the best option for me. If you enjoy the same thing, then a e-book on plans for building a greenhouse would be an excellent choice, but the method of finding the information is definitely up to you.
Remember that organization is key to essential research which will make finding those perfect plans for building a greenhouse that much simpler. I can't leave you without say that it will take some effort and work from you, but I guarantee that you love and enjoy the outcome when your project is finally finished.
