Here are 10 quick tips for getting a swimwear-ready bod in time for summer fun in the sun.

Start hitting the gym: Nothing can compensate for good old-fashioned exercise. Concentrate on fat-burning cardio routines that will melt away that winter blubber, and be sure to vary your routine so you don't get bored and give up.

Eat better: Starving yourself is not just unhealthy- it's downright dangerous. But you can be more careful about getting the recommended amounts of fruits and vegetables.

Cut down on the bad stuff: Most of us can't realistically stay away from candy or cookies or chips altogether without ending up binging. Just practice portion control and exert a little more will-power.

Set realistic expectations: Few of us will look like swimsuit models, and that's perfectly OK. You want to look your best: not someone else's idea of what's best. As you get ready for summer, be smart about it and be kind to yourself.
