Fondest School Memories

Do you ever wish that you stayed eight years old forever

? When life was dedicated to having fun? There's something very special about primary school and the time in our life spent there. Some of the best parts were...

1. Writing on the chalkboard:

It must be sad for young students, now that everything is electronic. Writing on the chalkboard was the very thing that had little girls feeling like the teacher, and what could be better than that?

2. Playing cops and robbers at recess:

There aren't many games in the world that are more fun than cops and robbers. What's especially cool about it is that it doesn't cost any money. All you need are some friends and lots of energy. Divide the group in two. One half are the cops and the other half are the robbers. Naturally the robbers run away and the cops try to catch them. When they do, the robbers have to go to jail. The only way for them to get out is if another robber runs through the jail and screams 'jail break'. Such fun!

3. Jumping rope with friends:

Okay, this activity is more for girls but very fun nonetheless. Popular games include chase, pairs, and double dutches. Much like chess, some games of jump rope never really end.

4. Hanging out with friends in the shade:

Sometimes recess comes and you just want to take a break. It is therefore of significant importance that schoolyards are accommodated with shaded benches and seated areas. These areas are also ideal for teaching outside and school-wide events.

5. Monkey bars:

Monkey bars are a staple on the playground. While they are slightly dangerous they are also incredibly fun and a great way for kids to practice their flexibility and gymnastics skills.

6. Field trips:

It's rare to take field trips when students get older. It was such fun to take time out of school and go to the ballet or the symphony. A visit somewhere relevant to what we learning in class, like the aquarium for biology, or the natural history museum for history was also always fun.

7. Swim class:

A lot of students hate swim class because it means having to get wet and wear a bathing cap. It is so much fun though and what a great opportunity to have a swimming pool at school.

There are so many great memories from primary school, but nothing better than sitting outside and enjoying friends. What are your fondest school memories?
