, get answers to their questions, and discuss products and services. To generate more traffic to your online business, forum marketing is one of the best ways. You can bring attention to your site and your business by sharing your expertise in your niche and by joining discussions. When people go into a forum, they can search for specific questions and find posts about that. If their search yields no results, they can post a question to the community. Forums are not a place to push your products; firstly, people will ignore it, and secondly, you could get suspended or booted out of the forum by the site administrator. In a forum, you are there to answer questions and contribute to the community.

You can create a signature in most forums; this signature will be displayed at the end of your posts. In your signature section, you can add a link to your site. Looking at other forum members' signatures in their profiles can help you get an idea of how to format your signature. When you do this, find those members that have high ratings. By looking at them as examples, you can find out what works the best.

Joining at least 5 forums in your niche is recommended. Check out different forums; go with those that are busy and have high member numbers. Also, check the page ranks. Avoid forums that have a lot of spam, and those that are run by competitors. Your signature on every one of your posts creates a backlink which is valuable depending on the site's page rank, so choosing sites with high page ranks are best. If you post on a PR6 site, for example, that is much more valuable than if you post on a PR1 site. Traffic to your site will increase over time as the backlinks eventually raise your search engine rank. And, make sure that the forum site is related to your business and your site; join forums related to your niche.

Start by getting all your forum accounts setup, and then start posting, either by answering questions or posting questions of your own. Make sure you search before asking questions; if there are already questions similar to yours, the administrator could delete them. To gradually get your rating higher and gain more credibility in the forum community, you need to have a lot of posts, so post daily. Also, the longer you are a member, the higher your rating will go. The forum rules should be read and followed. Each site may have different rules so thoroughly read each sites' rules. If the rules are not followed, you could lose ranking, get suspended, or get completely kicked out. Wisely choose a username and profile picture. They should both be a good representation of you and your business. Make your username memorable, so people remember you. Don't use cartoon-type pictures for your profile picture. People want to see the real you; this makes you much more trustworthy and credible.

You have the space to share your expertise and experience in your profile, so take the time to make it something people will want to read. To help people connect with you, it's helpful to add some hobbies or personal tidbits. To avoid things like spam and identity theft, don't include things like your phone number.

Make sure you visit each forum every day, and post at least 5 posts on each of them daily. Through your signature, this will help to promote your site and you will see more traffic. It's important to be consistent with this over the long-term; forum marketing takes time to build.
