the San Antonio Spurs have flown pretty much under the radar. The two-time defending champion Los Angeles Lakers have been up-and-down all season but are still considered by many the team to beat. Both teams will be looking to make a statement when they collide at AT&T Center on Sunday afternoon in front of a national-television crowd. NBA Odds Spurs -3 favorites.

ABOUT THE SPURS (51-11): The Spurs have won a franchise-record 22 straight home wins and are an NBA-best 29-2 at home with losses to only New Orleans and Dallas. They received a nice surprise Friday when point guard Tony Parker, expected to be out two to four weeks with a calf injury, returned after missing just two games. He had 15 points and eight assists in 23 minutes. San Antonio jumped all over Miami, 36-12 after the first quarter, before coasting to a 125-95 victory. Manu Ginobili led eight players in double figures with 20 points as the Spurs nailed a franchise-record 17 3-pointers in 28 attempts.

ABOUT THE LAKERS (44-19): Despite all the prodding by head coach Phil Jackson, poor play from Ron Artest and a battered Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol, the Lakers enter on a six-game winning streak. They also have 22 road wins, tied with San Antonio and Dallas for the most in the NBA. The Lakers will be tested now with four straight on the road, with Atlanta, Miami and Dallas to follow. Bryant scored 27 points Friday as the Lakers topped Charlotte, 92-84. Derek Fisher injured his left elbow in the third period and didn't return.

WHO'S HOT/WHO'S NOT: Matt Bonner made 6 of 7 from 3-point range against Miami and leads the league at 52.8 percent (85 of 161). Boston's Ray Allen is second at 46.5 percent. The difference between Bonner and Allen (.063) is the same difference between Allen and the 29th-best 3-point shooter. Bonner is 11 of 15 in his last two games and 24 of 37 over his last six NBA Picks games. Bryant has shot just 26 of 65 (40 percent) from the floor with just eight rebounds and 10 turnovers in his last three games.

KEY STATISTIC: It took the Spurs only 61 games to register their 50th win of the season. Over the past 10 seasons, the 2006-07 Mavericks are the only team to get there faster (59 games).

SEASON SERIES: San Antonio has won three straight in the series. Parker led the Spurs with 23 points in a 97-82 home win Dec. 28 and tallied 21 in an 89-88 road win Feb. 3. The Spurs won it on an Antonio McDyess tip-in at the buzzer. Bryant has averaged 24.3 points in 50 career games against the Spurs.
