Freezers of the future

Most of us have a range of kitchen appliances that we would struggle to live without and one of these is the freezer

If this latest technology was utilized by manufacturers, it could eliminate the hydro fluorocarbon (these are harmful gases) being released from the fridge in to the atmosphere. It could also reduce the noise levels and make for a quieter and more environmentally friendly home. Times are changing fast and so are the dynamics within a family, it has become common for both partners to work for a living and as a result of this, couples often buy readymade meals for convenience sake or cook in bulk and therefore need storage and a larger freezer. Remember, many households are on a tight budget, so buying in large quantities at big warehouse food stores has become quite popular and while this saves money and time; it does increase the demand for larger freezers. But what is the effect of this entire thing on environment? The scientists constantly look for ways to save energy to help our planet. The testing of magnetocaloric effect is a massive step in right direction and if it is given the go ahead, it has the potential to significantly help the environment. The scientists are looking to make an alloy which works with magnetic system more cheaply and efficiently than the present system and this may be seen in future fridges and fridge freezers from major brands such as Samsung and Zanussi.

Scientists testing this technology are confident that this can be added to the working of fridge freezer at a much cheaper cost than the current system. This will also lead to lower cost for the users at a time when the economy is less than stable.
