Fuecotech Systems Offer 5% Fuel Efficiency Increase And 12% Lower Greenhouse Gases Emission

Fuecotech has developed the first fuel conditioning system and is applying its dual atomization technology to Caterpillar C15 diesel engines

. The system provides better fuel dispersion and prevents coalescence of fuel micro-droplets after injection.

With the new system, which Fuecotech developed with engineers from Helpful Technologies, the C15 engine achieves the super-small fuel droplets of approximately 0.005-0.01 microns compared to 10-20 microns achievable with the standard C15 equipment. The smaller fuel droplets cause a significantly faster vaporization and faster flame propagation in the combustion chamber. As a result, less fuel is needed to achieve the required torque. The combustion area of the fuel increases by about 1,500 times, which provides for a more complete fuel burning and results in lower emission of greenhouse gases. Improved fuel efficiency is critical for the competitive cost of services for most transportation companies and a carbon-contained environment.

U.S. trucks consume more than two million barrels of oil every day and average 6.1 miles per gallon, while emitting 20% of the GHG pollution related to U.S. transportation. On May 21, President Obama signed a memorandum directing the U.S. EPA and the U.S. Department of Transportation to create the first national policy increasing the fuel efficiency of medium- and heavy-duty trucks while decreasing their greenhouse gas emissions. It looks like Fuecotech can attain those levels now.

While Fuecotech"s dual atomization technology is being initially applied to the Caterpillar C15 engine, eventually Fuecotech systems will be offered to retrofit many other engines, starting from truck diesels and evolving towards to marine and gas-turbine jet applications.
