And as long as that big ball of fire we call the sun keeps on burning, we will have an unlimited supply of it! All around Earth people use solar energy to create heat and electricity. Water is heated using the natural heat that accompanies sunlight.

Solar energy is also used to create electricity by using photovoltaic panels. Photovoltaic cells can be installed in residences and office buildings and schools very quickly. Did you know you can even construct your own set of solar panels?

Also, another neat fact about solar energy is that solar powered cars and trucks are being researched and developed, and NASA even made a plane that travels solely on energy from the sun!
