Whether you prefer activities that are quiet, like sunning on the beach or you are up for some high energy night life, you will find all kinds of activities to participate in throughout the city, no matter what time of day it is. The fun and excitement never seem to slow down in the city, so you will have no trouble finding something to do no matter what your interests or your budget are.

From shopping centers, historical museums, entertainment venues to fine restaurants, there is something for everyone here. In 2004, the huge construction project Padres PETCO Park brought back some of the glory of the Downtown area, and the place is buzzing with activity today. Throughout the downtown area, there are many attractions that you should not miss, and here are a few of them:

The Gaslamp Quarter derived its name from the old-fashioned street gas lamps which lined the sidewalks in the earlier days. Even today, this place takes you back in time as its various historic buildings have been restored to resemble their former grandeur. Although this is the famous historic part of town, dont let it fool you into thinking that there are no fun things to do in San Diego! The nightlife alone is something spectacular; the Gaslamp Quarter is the mecca of bars, dance clubs, sidewalk cafes and live theaters. There are plenty of places to eat, live musical acts throughout the streets, regular concerts and little performances and more. Fortunately for travelers and tourists, there are also several places to stay overnight at so that you dont have to travel far to get some rest for the next day!

If you are one who loves to do some shopping, you will find that the Horton Plaza shopping center is full of things to do in San Diego. The multi level mall houses many restaurants, gift shops and specialty shops, boutiques, and apparel stores, not to mention some restaurants too. Speaking of food, Seaport Village also has many activities for people to enjoy and also has more than 50 specialty shops to browse through. With so many shops to patronize, you are going to want to make sure that you reserve plenty of time to get through them all!

There are plenty of museums in the city that are popular tourist attractions, including the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Firehouse Museum, the Maritime Museum and the Chinese Historical Museum. As you can see, there are tons of things to do in San Diego on any given day, so have fun!
