The Annual San Diego Charity Ball

In San Diego, there are several charities that are committed to breaking the barrier of poverty

, unemployment, and helping the homeless people and at risk or troubled youth. One of the most anticipated every year is the Annual San Diego Charity Ball, which raises much needed money for those in need in various cases throughout the city and also the surrounding area.

The San Diego Charity Ball, a grand fund raising party, was established in 1909 with the wonderful purpose of helping the children of Holly Safton Memorial Hospital. They set the trend to help the helpless people. In 1953, this ball started donating for Redy childrens hospital and Health Centre Commences in San Diego. Since its inception, the Ball has been a significant part of social as well as philanthropic framework of San Diego.

The history of the longest running charity event is wonderful and wrapped with elegance and sophistication. After 1909, it became a must tradition to be celebrated. Local families contributed a lot to carrying over the tradition of San Diego Charity Ball. Every year, a grand party is thrown where people arrive to join in celebration of the anniversary to raise money for the underprivileged children. In 1909, the first charity ball was celebrated at the later demolished Hotel Robinson. After 1912, Hotel Del Coronado became a permanent place of celebration. In the very first anniversary, San Diego Charity Ball had raised $1,570 and over the years, people became increasingly aware and started contributing with open hearts. On the 99th anniversary, the charity ball raised $415,000 for Redy Children.

Decorations and diverse social themes play an important role in the San Diego Charity ball. Different encouraging themes include, Lets Go Fly a Kite, Cirque du Coeur Over the Rainbow, What a Wonderful World! Unforgettable, A Magical Merry Go Round, and many more. The purpose of this ball is not only to donate but also encourage people to come out of the previous depression era of the country.

Diversity in decoration is also noticeable that emphasizes different themes. In 1930, San Diego Charity ball was dramatically decorated with ultra modern silver and black decor and wonderful lighting that welcomed guest in the paradise circular ballroom of the Hotel del Coronado. In 1949, the ball emphasized the gold theme. At night, the entertainment included the series of living portraits of California. The forthcoming 102nd Anniversary of San Diego Charity Ball will be beneficial for the Heart Transplant Program at Rady Childrens Hospital.

The San Diego charity Ball is accustomed to making history, and the luxuries, romance, superiority exhibited by this ball, significantly exceed the previous years record.
