When growing your plants inside your greenhouse, it is important that the amount of light and temperature is just right. Greenhouses are designed to provide your plants with plenty of light, so it is important that the glass is kept in good condition and cleaned regularly, as dirty or cracked glass may prevent your plants from receiving a sufficient amount of light.

If you are growing desert type plants such as cacti, then it is important that the temperature within the greenhouse is kept high. Exotic or desert type plants should always be researched before you decide to begin growing them in your greenhouse, so that you are aware of what they need in order for them to be grown successfully.

You can keep your plants at their best by ensuring that your greenhouse is kept tidy. Cluttering a greenhouse will reduce the amount of space your plants have to grow. It is also important to check for any signs of damage caused by insects or signs of plant disease. You may also wish to avoid using insect repellent, as the chemicals be harmful to the plants. If you have a cedar wood greenhouse, then the natural oils in the wood will repel insects, allowing you to avoid using harmful insect repellents.

You can also add extra lighting or heating to your greenhouse if your plants need it. If you have a small greenhouse or a lean-to greenhouse then your plants may be restricted to the amount of light they receive, so it may be worth adding a little extra lighting. Extra heating may be useful if you are planning to grow a selection of exotic plants.
