Gbl In South America

It was quite an adventure to visit Cartagena, Columbia

, but it was very worth the trip in many ways. I was the guest of Walter Staudinger and stayed at his beautiful villa/townhome inside the walled city of Cartagena. This 600 year-old city is said to be the oldest preserved city in South America. Everywhere you look is a contrast of modern elements within traditional Columbian culture.

While there, I met with a variety of people who had flown in to conduct business that would be helped by a Greening influence. One of those people was Peter Finkbeiner who is very well known for his unique travel books for the best hotels, restaurants, and cities of the world. He is a dynamic person, and it was great to find common ground with his efforts to promote quality at every level. The Green Business League was something that Peter feels would greatly help the hotel industry that is already making efforts to become Green and sustainable.

I had the opportunity to meet Esther Bustamante of the Hotel Cartagena de Indias. This is an outstanding hotel that is also a beautiful place to stay that had already started the Greening process. Like many hotels, however, the effort seems somewhat disjointed. With the GBL system, we provide a system that credits what has been done, and help the hotel map out a plan that allows it to reach a highly respected Green certification.

Kurt Morrow in Florida sees an enthusiastic response to our Green certification program as well. Our consultants are specially trained to work with businesses of all kind, but we have perfected the Green hotel program to a level that can be respected anywhere. The fact that we can bring the EPA Energy Star option to the hotel is just another great validation of the company's honest commitment. In Florida, we work with hotels to bring the latest impact of the Florida Green Hotel certification as well. This recently changed and become more difficult, and GBL manufacturer is able to provide the guidance for state certification of Green hotels as well.

I should mention that my next trip to South America will happen later this year where I hope to meet with Lorena Muro in Lima, Peru. She is an energetic lady with wonderful skills and powerful connections. From the city of Lima, Peru; I will be helping Lorena launch the GBL project across South America. Her website is being updated, and I expect to see powerful things coming from our South American partner.

I can't neglect to mention the progress of Greg Seymour in Durban, South Africa. He operates our South Africa office, and is breaking new ground daily. Countries around the world want to go Green, but often lack the programming to do so, Why not take the proven tools of the Green Business League, and put a powerful program in place without reinventing the wheel?

It is more than a pleasure to see the progress of GBL manufacturer in the U.S. and other parts of the world. We have a team mentality that I hope to encourage as we continue our march toward an industry standard worldwide. I know that there are other programs out there. Most of them are pretenders and small thinkers. Far too many firms offer online certification that are little more than well-done scams. The Green Business League is already the leader when it comes to Green business certification. We have the standards of achievement, the diligence of live audits, and the staying power to manage a world-class operation. It is always a pleasure to represent a team of such a professional commitment.
