General And Vertical Bio Safety Bench Class Ii A Ii Cabinets

Bio safety bench Class II A II combines a multitude of design

, construction and proprietary technological considerations to bestow optimum operator, product and environmental protection. It features a 10-degree sloped front for maximum operator comfort. A 1-piece stainless steel work zone and the absence of screws or connectors in the work zone facilitate ease of cleaning after experiments.

Bio Safety Bench Class II A II are designed for work involving microorganisms assigned to bio safety levels 1,2 and 3. These cabinets provide a suitable environment for cell culture propagation and may also be used for the formulation of non-volatile, anti neoplastic or chemotherapeutic drugs. There are several types of Class II cabinets, see the table below for acceptable uses of each and click on Type (Class) to view schematic drawings of biological safety cabinets.

Vertical, unidirectional airflow and a front access opening are common to most Class II cabinets. But, because Class II designs permit different airflow patterns, velocities, HEPA air filter position, ventilation rates and exhaust methods, a sub-classification of Type is needed to differentiate Class II BSC designs.

Class II Biological Safety Cabinets provide personnel, product and environmental protection from hazardous particulates such as agents that require Bio safety Level 1, 2 or 3 containment. These are bio safety cabinets with specialized features for cell research. Both Logic and Cell Logic bio safety cabinets are available in Type A2 and B2. Purifier Delta Series Bio safety Cabinets have been discontinued and replaced by the Purifier Logic Class II Bio safety Cabinets.

Class II cabinet must meet requirements for the protection of product, personnel and the environment. This type of cabinet is widely used in clinical, hospital, life science, research and pharmaceutical laboratories.

In general, cabinets are classified according to the method by which air volumes are re circulated or exhausted.

The Class II biological safety cabinet has three key features:

A front access opening with carefully maintained inward airflow.

HEPA-filtered, vertical, unidirectional airflow within the work area.

HEPA-filtered exhaust air to the room or exhaust to a facility exhaust system.

Weiber specializes in both standard and customized bio safety class 2 A II. These microprocessor based units are equipped with a front aperture through which the operator can carry out manipulations inside the cabinet. The class II, type A recirculates approximately 70 % of the air through a supply filter, and exhausts approximately 30 % of the air through an exhaust filter to the room. Moreover access for passage of materials into the cabinet is through a dunk tank or double door pass through box that can be decontaminated between uses. These bio-medical isolating equipments are designed for pharmaceutical and various other medical and biomedical laboratory applications.
