Mercedes-Benz is not quire ready to reveal the newest CLS

, but does have a model which is nearer to the coming attraction than what we have seen so far. Mercedes plans to debut its Shooting BreakConcept and Geneva Mercedes-Benz customers should hold on for the ride.

The engine in this one is a 3.5-liter V6 and previews the new line of V engines from Mercedes with 306 horsepower and 273-lb feet. The design is really worth checking out with the soft nose of the SLS and some unique new full-LED headlights which will be the first to offer regular dynamic light functions with LED technology.

Using the Intelligent Light System tested in other Mercedes models but with bi-xenon headlights, the five functions of these over-the-top headlights will include: country lights, enhanced fog lights, motorway lights, cornering lights and active curve lights. Not only are they many and versatile, but they have been specially engineered for normal driving or various weather conditions. If the headlights are that complex, imagine what the rest of the car must contain. Buyers of used Mercedes Chicago will definitely want to see for themselves.

Interior luxury includes an oak-lined passenger compartment and, extra points for this one, a floor covered in Maybach carpet. The center console features inlay work reminiscent of the 1920s and the seating is more than ample.

Moving rearward to the trunk, saddlebags line the sides, lending an up-scale touch and providing extra storage space for almost anything. Youll even find oak lining back here. Impressive! Geneva Mercedes-Benz dealers are counting on customers being blown away by the extra touches.

Mercedes is even toying with the idea that, should the Shooting Break be excessively in demand, they may spin off a five-door CLS Wagon version. Some industry experts believe the R-Class will evolve into, but well just have to hold out collective breath and wait for Mercedes to roll out its next finished model.

Customers of used Mercedes Chicago will have plenty of new and pre-owned Mercedes models to choose from in the meantime. With so much promise of luxury and unique new features, they may just have to come back when the Shooting Break, or whatever its showroom name turns out to be, becomes available. The five-way headlights alone are worth a trip to the showroom. I cant even picture how those might work. Are there that many subtleties to headlight action?

I have to admit, the saddlebags in the luggage compartment, as the Europeans say really intrigue me. (Luggage compartment does sound so much more sophisticated than trunk.
