The Human Resource Development Ministry, Government of India is all set to go ahead

with its plan to conduct a common engineering entrance examination from 2013, but the first nation-wide test may only cover technical institutions funded by the Centre.

IIT-JEE and AIEEE for long the gateways to Indias top engineering colleges including the IITs and NITs is all set to be replaced by a brand new test to be called as ISEET - Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test. ISEET will have two sections -

ISEET Mains

ISEET Advance

The Mains part consists of questions that test the student's mental ability, logical reasoning and comprehensive abilities. It is of objective type.

The Advance part consists of the conceptual questions from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and it is expected to be more or less similar to the IIT JEE pattern.

Who will conduct ISEET?

About ISEET we also know that it is expected to be managed and conducted by the CBSE board of examinations at a central level. It is also proposed by the government that the setting of the ISEET papers both ISEET main and ISEET advance be handed over to IITs.
