This is evidence against errors written in your record. Make a detailed letter to both the bureau and the creditor explaining the error. Include your name, address and social security number.
Send them a copy of your incorrect credit report as well as other significant documents that prove your claim. Never send any original documents.
The credit bureau will contact the creditor and ask for proofs of their claim regarding the data on your report. The creditor is required to respond to your letter in 30 days and the issue is expected to be resolved in 90 days.
Document every step of your credit clean up phone calls, letters, etc. so you will know your progress. Be aggressive and persistent when doing your own clean up job.
Remember the reason you are doing a clean up is to get your credit back to where it was. A successful clean up does not mean you should get lax.
Regularly ask for copies of your credit report and always be vigilant for errors.
You do not want to go through the whole process again.
