New Zealand is a home for innovative ideas. New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarships (NZIDRS) is funded by the New Zealand Government and is administered by study in New Zealand. It proves to be beneficial by providing financial support to the students undertaking doctoral degrees. To be eligible for scholarship students must be an international student. A student should meet the requirements for direct entry into a research based doctoral degree program at a New Zealand university with a proof of English language proficiency. A student should provide evidence that they have been in contact with the relevant department of their chosen institution and discussed their proposed research, research interests and the availability of appropriate supervision. A student should have an IELTS score of 6.5 bands or TOEFL test score of at least 575, including a score of 4.5 in Written English or overall score of 100 in the internet based TOEFL.
Applications will be evaluated by a selection committee of senior academics according to the set criteria
The applicant has a record of sustained academic excellence, particularly in the chosen field of study.
The applicant has a well-defined research programmer or research interests, and wishes to study in New Zealand university with the expertise and resources to support that research.
Prospective candidates who have already commenced their Doctorate in New Zealand must be within the first 6 months of PhD enrollment as at the application close date.
Incomplete applications and electronically submitted applications will not be considered under any circumstances. This is non-negotiable.
