Getting Mixed Singles - Why Is Your Ex Flirting With You?

Getting mixed signals from a woman can drive a man crazy

. One minute you think that she can't stand you, and the next - it seems like she wants to be all over you. When the woman who is giving you those mixed signals just happens to be your ex girlfriend - that can leave you feeling like a total train wreck. Now, you might be wondering WHY she is sending you those mixed signals that you seem to be picking up on. I mean, if she is your ex girlfriend and she is flirting with you, doesn't that mean that she probably wants to get back together?

Well, it would be nice if that was what it always meant. But, then, you would not be calling them mixed signals, would you?

A woman can purposely or even non purposely give a guy mixed signals even by flirting with him for a LOT of different reasons. It does not always mean that she wants to get back together with you. I know, it just makes things all the more confusing than they have to be... but that's just the way it goes sometimes.

Why would your ex girlfriend be sending you mixed signals by flirting with you?

1) She needs to get an ego boost from someone and she knows that she can get it from you.

Maybe your ex had her eye on a guy and it did not turn out the way that she wanted. So, feeling a little hurt and crushed by that... she needs to get an ego boost and she KNOWS that you will do that for her. This is one of those situations where you are ultimately getting played just to make her feel better about herself.

2) She's on the fence about getting back together and she wants to "test" you out.

Sometimes, your ex girlfriend will flirt with you because she is thinking about reconciling with you, but she is not sure about it, and through flirting, she is trying to pick up on some signals from you to see if it is the right thing to do. Although it may be a mixed signal, this is a pretty good scenario for you if you want to get your ex girlfriend back.

3) She's heard that someone else likes you and it makes her feel insecure.

This is another situation where a guy can easily get played by mixed messages coming from his ex girlfriend. Some women will have no problem flirting with their ex boyfriend if they know that another woman likes him and it triggers their jealousy. Sometimes this is a good thing... sometimes it's not.
