No one wants to deal with fleas. This can be very difficult for families that have pets. But, they can create a really large problem. If they are not taking care of properly they may end up in your mattress. This creates an entirely new problem that you will need to deal with. Try this technique to get rid of fleas in your mattress.
1.) Star by taking all of the bedding off of your mattress. You will need to take this directly to the washing machine and turn on the hot water. Wash them twice if you are concerned that once is not enough.
2.) Block off all pets and children so that they are not able to get into your room were you flea infested mattress is.
3.) Spray in a flea killer on the floor around your bed and also on your mattress. This can be purchased at any pet supply store or from your local veterinarian.
4.) Once you have sprayed the area you will want to run a vacuum over the floor. Remove the vacuum bag and then run it again over your mattress.
This technique is very effective but that does not mean that it will work the first time. You may need to complete this process a few times in order to get rid of all the fleas. Another important thing to remember is that you also need to treat your pets. You do not want to get rid of the fleas on your bed and then have your infected animal on your mattress again. This would only defeat the purpose. You can also buy a slip cover for your mattress that will keep the fleas and any other insect off of your mattress. These are usually inexpensive and can be found at any home store.
