Do you want to get your ex back? Have you ever asked yourself why you really want to get your ex back? I have often contemplated when we suffer from failed relationships and then decide we want our exes back, do we really want our ex's back or do we want the notion of a relationship back. I believe this is a great question we should all ask of ourselves when faced with this dilemma.

Why did you get rid of your ex in the first place?

Think about it, your ex is now your ex because you caught them red-handed snuggled up to some hot blonde-haired woman (he always said he loved brown-haired women). This shows he is not only a cheater but also a liar. Do you really want this man back? Let us be fair to both genders here and utilize the example of your girlfriend thinks it is ok to hang out at her "friends" house who happens to be a man. You finally tire of these tactics and endless arguments referencing this "friend" and you end the relationship. Do you want this ex back?

Loneliness and regret sets in

Yes, you caught them red-handed or you tired of their tactics, you did the right thing and you stood up for yourself while ending the relationship. Now, a few weeks later, you are finding that you are missing them or what you perceive is them. I believe during this period it is not the cheater you truly miss; it is the idea of the relationship as a whole. In all actuality, you do not want to get your ex back, you simply want the notion of a relationship back.

You must be willing to start over

This is something everyone suffers from or has suffered from at least once in their lives. What you must do during times such as this, is realize that you can have a relationship someday but it should more than likely be with someone else. Yes, I know it sucks when you have been with someone for a long period and the thought of starting over makes you absolutely want to cringe. You should not want someone in your life that has cheated on you or someone who is constantly playing games with your heart. You should not want your ex back if they have portrayed either of these traits. Stop being lazy and go on with your life.
