You want to get your ex back. We all do. People usually face a barrage of 'mixed' feelings when they are separated from their lovers or spouse. Varying degrees of anger, resentment, jealousy, hopelessness and hurt overcrowd their minds confusing them like never before. That's why getting your ex back is so important to you. You want to get back your ex and your peace of mind at the same time. It is a common reaction for most of us when we have to face the end of relationship.
The other common phenomenon noticed in most people keen to get back their exes, is a tearing sense of hurry to get going with their mission. Anyhow, they got to get back their exes, before it becomes too late, they argue. But think of it, late for what? Can time ever change the feelings for another person, if it built on a strong foundation? Time definitely has a thawing effect - it not only heals mental wounds but also allows us to think and act more rationally.
Old school teachers used to say 'to count ten before you say anything'. If you still feel like saying it, then go ahead. Or gulp down the thought immediately. Casual flirting, checking whether you are still in the race to get him/her back or an action done inadvertently. The whole idea is not to put too much importance to such gestures. On the contrary, simply ignore the overtures. Let your ex keep in guessing what could have gone right or wrong with you.
The other thing to remember immediately after your ex has deserted you is that she/he is still on unsure grounds. The future can be as bleak or uncertain with regard to your ex. This instantly puts you on a healthier state of mind - because you are more secure and stable than both of them! So why hurry matters when you can enjoy a few months or even years living the life you always wanted.
This brings us to another important aspect of how to deal with separation. Though easier said than done, we put in too much in a relationship. So when it shows cracks or even breaks, our lives become unbearable because our ex holds so much of our mind space. There is hardly any 'self' left which can handle things better. Be that as it may, it is always to let time take its own course - if your ex felt that strongly for you, there is nothing stopping him/her from getting back. If he/she does not, despite your earnest efforts, he/she was ever yours. Whichever way you look at the situation, hurrying matters simply cannot help. It is not the best approach to get your ex back.
