There are many outdoor solar lights and solar Christmas lights available such as stepping stones, globes, which drift on water, lights that stay hung from stakes, grill lights, Chinese lanterns, umbrella lights, lights that mount on walls, solar planters, glowing bricks, and tiny string lights and much more to choose.

However, it is advisable you first plan over how well to use the outdoor space for lighting and most importantly, about the type of lighting you are looking for. Outdoor solar lights lend warmth to the space outdoors.

Three Types of Lighting:

1.Task lighting: This category of lighting is for doing specific tasks such as for walking up and down the steps as well as along the paths safely and for grilling. You need to position the task lighting in between the object, which requires to be lit and your eyes. You have to be careful the lighting doesnt blaze. This is because a light that is excessively bright, may blind you instead of guiding.

2.Security lighting: This lighting is required in vulnerable places. Since it is motion-activated and bright, it is recommended you keep it far from your living area so that it does not distract you. Or else, have a switch, which you may operate manually for security lighting. This may help in overriding the automatic illumination.

3.Ambient lighting: Consider ambient lighting for your outdoor solar lights and solar Christmas lights. This lighting offers overall illumination outdoors. It makes you feel comfortable. Ambient lighting imitates the natural starlight or moonlight. You may expect the moonlight effect, when you hang outdoor lights on mature trees. They have to point downward to give dappled effect. For achieving the starlight look, sprinkle flickering candles all over the place. Also, suspend the tiny lights across tree branches for creating nighttime canopy.
