Go Green With These Do It Yourself Car Accessories

There are a number of ways with which you can accessorize your car. However, most of them, if not expensive, are harmful to your health and the environment. The good news is, you can always innovate and accessorize your car the clean and green way. Aside from being economical, DIY car accessories can give your car a look that can't be found in other vehicles.

Start your project with the seats first. When people enter the car, the first thing they will notice are the car seats. If your car seats are already worn out, hide the tears by covering the seats with your personally-designed seat covers. These seat covers can be produced by using your sewing skills on old clothes, towels, and unused fabric. There's absolutely no need to spend just to give your car seats a makeover.

To minimize clutter inside your car, you will need to install an organizer. Again, there's no need to spend some cash on this one. Simply make use of old shoe or jewelry boxes that you have in your home and use your imagination to give it an appealing look from the outside. You can then use such containers as storage for small items such as pens, receipts, and even hand held gadgets like your phone or iPod.

Aside from clutter, you will also have to deal with trash inside your car. To eliminate them, set up a little trash bin made of a plastic or tin can with a diameter of 7 inches. Wrap it with special covering for a more presentable look. The best place to set your trash bin is either at the backseat and the front seat or both, as long as you secure it in place to prevent it from spilling.

A car is not complete without an air freshener. It would be best if you create your own car freshener that does not contain any health threatening chemical. Get a cardboard and cut it into a shape of your choice. Do the same with a piece of fabric and glue it to the cardboard. After that, soak it in essential oil according to your scent preferences and presto! You have your own eco-friendly car freshener.

If you notice, there's nothing too difficult with these DIY eco-friendly car accessories. With the help of your imagination, there is absolutely no limit to what extent you want to accessorize your car's interior.
