Goal Achieving Success Techniques

Why is it that in spite of our best intentions we regularly don't accomplish the

goals we establish for ourselves? Are we excessively ambitious when we plan them? Or that we are not sufficiently ambitious and hence get bored. Possibly our goals are too fuzzy so it's not very clear what it is we are aiming at. Perhaps they're not goals we really want anyway, but are things we think we "should" want according to what our family or our boss or society expects of us. If any of these reasons apply to the goals we set then it is going to be an mounting battle to achieve them.

But let us suppose that the goals we have planned are ones we are enthusiastic about and ones we really choose. Why, then is it that, more often than not we still can't reach them?

Well, there's an inherent difficulty with setting goals and this is it. Goals, are by necessity set for the future. So each time you focus on them you are thinking about something you do not yet have or something you have not yet achieved. And that end up lowering your mood and decreasing your motivation. You are starting from a place of having your well-being be something in the future. You find yourself feeling so far away from where you want to be that it lowers your self confidence and can end up being worse than having no goals at all.

So what you need to do is work back from your final goal and break it up into smaller pieces, and then break it down again until you have goals that can be carried out in twenty four hours. Think of it like a map and then lay it to one side.

Make your daily goals trackable so that you can make a note of your successes on a chart or in a journal. As an example, if you wanted to shed 12 lbs by a certain date. Your daily goals could be to go walking, eat 2 pieces of fruit, investigate healthy recipes and read something inspirational. You might make a chart to stick on your wall so you are able to check off your daily aims as you reach them.

If you discover you are not getting sufficiently close to your final goal by your deadline, change/increase your daily goals. You have complete creative control.

This focus on what you are achieving every day builds momentum and self confidence because you will go to bed knowing that you have done what you set out to do. You do not have to wait until you attain your end goal and have lost 9 lbs. You will already be a success, your self worth will increase and, if you keep it up, your end goal is certain.
