High school counselors are sometimes thought of as a particularly busy and harried bunch. No matter if you'd see them routinely, or only those instances that -- after TV commercials and trees announced the time for going back to school for the semester -- you needed to be handed your class schedule, they were probably curt and their language dense. They said a great deal but you had a hard time processing or remembering more than the gist of their very important- and urgent-sounding declarations.
