On 8th June 2010, Google Inc. introduced its new system of indexing named Google Caffeine. According to Google, Caffeine contains 50% fresh results than the previous indexing system. By performing this experiment, Google made its searches more informative and better for its users. On 12th August 2009, search engine analyst of Google Matt Cutts gave an interview from WebTV in which he said, "At first, Google Caffeine will be applied to the specific data sets until adequate feedback and results testing can be performed". An application which was used for the first testing of Google Caffeine is known as Caffeine sandbox.

The main difference between old index system and Google Caffeine is that in old indexing, Google only shows the organic and paid web results of your required query, while in the new system, when you search a query in Google, then it will provide you not only the organic and paid sites but also shows the news, videos, blogs, forums, shopping results and many more that match your query. According to Google, the reason to create Caffeine is to provide more feasibility in search that grows the expectation of user.

In some cases, the search results of Google Caffeine are not totally different from the old indexing. It depends on the search type you performed. For example, breaking news of anything has definitely fresh search results that are appeared with the help of Google Caffeine while if you are searching any topic related to its history then it may be possible that it doesn't updated on regular basis.

Search Engine experts who observed Google Caffeine deeply think about it that this new algorithms of Google is giving an abundance importance to the attributes of different website such as site speed, site's back links, meta tags, relevant images and quality instead of quantity.
