Google Maps - How To Use Them For Traffic

If you were getting tens of thousands of visitors to your site every day, think of all the money you'd make. You'd have over a million visitors in no time flat. How cool would that be? And how green? Green as in money.

Some "short tail" or "fat" keywords can bring in so much traffic that they would create income forever. But such keywords are beyond most everyday marketers because of their prohibitive costs. The "little guy" (or girl) doesn't have the deep pockets to compete with corporate giants and their massive authority sites.

Until now, that is ... until the emergence of Google Maps.

Not long ago, in 2009, Google began to display what they called the "10 box" system on its search results pages. This system showed local company listings related to the search terms. Savvy internet marketers soon figured out that most of the local companies in the boxes didn't know much about internet marketing and SEO. But there they were, outranking corporate authority sites for some of the best keywords there were. Now what if your site was one of those in the "10 boxes"?

Perhaps coolest of all about it is that you don't have to be local. From anyplace in the world you could be ranking in the "10 box" results. "Hmmm ...," you say. Yes, think of the possibilities.

There is now software available that will allow you to be listed in Google Maps's "10 box" system. It searches Google and detects high traffic keywords in your niche. These keywords trigger placeholders in Google Maps, causing you to be listed on the results page in the "10 box" display. I'm not going to list any particular software here, but I'm sure you know how to find some.

As always, there are more details associated with getting listed via Google Maps, and the prospective listee is advised to proceed with due diligence. And many are. One of them could be you.
