The Department of Health and Human Services offers a lot of scholarships for students
that want to attend such studies for following a nursing career.
Government nursing scholarships include: the scholarship for disadvantaged students that want to follow studies in dental hygiene program, veterinary school, social work or other such areas. The students have to participate at such classes full-time.
The nursing scholarship program provides students with money for college with the condition that the work for no less than two years after graduation at high-needed personnel of a health care institution. This covers up for the loan just 60% the rest has to be paid by the student. If he or she agrees to work for three years, the amount can be reduced to paying only 15% of the initial given amount. There are other such types of scholarships that are basically a loan to students that need to finish their classes. But some of the government nursing scholarships are given to students for free. The eligibility conditions are basically the same as in any other scholarships. The fact that there are much more scholarships for this area of study than for any other, dos not mean that the free scholarships are just as many. The government offers scholarships for free only to students that are in need or to students that have excellent scores at graduating high school or college.
The master program scholarships for nursing are more likely to be repayable loans and are given only to students that have a clean repayable record.
Due to the fact that this is a much required job just like teaching, there are also companies and individuals or foundations that offer this type of scholarship, so this can mean that you don't have to get a loan to go to school. Sometimes the career evolution is not so predictable, and you can remain in debt to the school for a very long time.
