Therefore, if you've booked a late holiday deal and are setting off in 4 weeks, take a look through these 4 tips to help make sure you look your best when you're soaking up the sun.
1. Start drinking water - the UK government recommends that every adult drinks around 8 cups of water a day, which is approximately 2 litres.
Although this will vary from person to person (for instance, if you live in a country with a particularly hot climate you'll require more, just as you will if you work in an environment where you are constantly sweating), it's a good rule to go by.
Plus, this will not only aid with weight loss by, amongst other ways, making you feel fuller for longer, but you'll also notice that your skin is a lot healthier, too.
2. Take up a gym membership - you may not think that heading to, for example, any of the gyms in London will have a benefit when you've only got 4 weeks to go, but if you can attend 3 or 4 times a week in the coming month, you'll benefit a lot more than you realise, as any amount of exercise is always recommended.
And whilst it may be easier to find an affordable gym in the capital for the simple fact that there are such a copious amount of gyms in London, cheap memberships are available in most gyms around the country, as long as you look for them.
Check out online deals, look for vouchers in local magazines or simply ask the gym directly to see if they can offer you a discount - you might be surprised at how much you can save by just asking.
3. Ditch the alcohol - whilst a lot of medical professionals agree that some alcohol is not a particularly bad point in any diet, if you're looking to get in shape quickly, it's advised that you remove anything from your diet that unnecessarily increases the amount of calories that you need.
If you don't think you can go the full 4 weeks without touching a drop of alcohol, though, stick to a clear spirit with a diet mixer, such as vodka and diet tonic, as this only has around 50 calories.
4. Lower the amount of carbs that you eat - as a well-balanced diet is the key to healthy weight loss and a generally healthy lifestyle, it's not often advised that you remove one food group from your diet completely when looking to lose weight.
However, if you've only got a few weeks to shed several pounds, lowering the amount of carbohydrates that you eat - without removing them completely - should help you lose some additional pounds.
